Since That Girl Thing began several years ago it has always been one of the highlights of my year. The things we learn always pertain to things that are applicable to my life, and the love and hard work that goes into preparing the weekend is so apparent. I have been both a camper and a leader for this weekend. From the standpoint of a camper it is a wonderful experience and from the standpoint of a leader it is a fun challenge to step into a different role. I have been going to Camp Longridge my entire life, and TGT is one of my favorite things that I have ever done there. It is a wonderful weekend and I highly suggest it to anyone.

That Girl Thing is a life changing experience. You get to meet alot of new people. While I was there I learned alot of new things. The fellowship is great. So are all the leaders. The activities are fun and useful. The people you meet there are people that you will keep in touch with. After going and spending a few days with these girls there is friendships made. I would suggest that girls come to this. The experiences last a life time.

When I look at retreats to carry my students to, I always look for things that are real, relevant, and seek to honor God. That is exactly what I found and you can find at That Girl Thing. There are small groups for all to take part in and they are taught by young women who are passionate about and live what they are teaching. After we pulled out the gates, my girls were wandering if we were going to be coming back next year because they learned a lot about themselves and drew closer to God. I would Highly recommend this retreat to anyone looking for an opportunity for their teenage girls to deepen their relationship with God that is real and relevant in today's culture.

We love bringing our youth girls to That Girl Thing. It is a great time to get them away from outside influences and let them focus on their relationships with eachother and most importantly with Christ. Our girls love the staff and look forward to going back every year. We highly recommend That Girl Thing and believe it to be an asset to the life of any young girl.

Stephanie Shivers McLawhorn is a Godly young woman who has a burden for middle and high school young ladies. She knows the pressures that are set before them and wants to make an impact on their lives during this weekend retreat. She prayerfully plans for That Girl Thing and only wants everything she does to honor and glorify God. She has made herself available to them at any time if they need a confidant or friend. I recommend this retreat to any group of young ladies who want to spend a weekend focusing on their Creator and how He can change them. It will be a weekend they won't forget if they come with an open mind and an open heart.

Below you will find statements from staffers, youth leaders, and young women discussing the impact That Girl Thing has on their lives. Also below is a promotional youtube video and a downloadable and printable handout for your youth.
That Girl Thing is just one way God uses Camp Longridge to reach young ladies for Christ. Stephanie has done a tremendous job of offering many opportunities for Christian growth. From the beginning to the end she has offered young ladies a chance to experience God right where they are. I think that she tries to show the young ladies that God loves them and understands them just as they are. If you have teenage girls, this retreat is something for you. You will not find better Biblical teachings, Christian fellowship, music, and all around fun than this retreat!!!!
I want to thank Stephanie for allowing God to use her in such a special way. God wants to use all of us....will you allow Him to use you.
